About this change order template

A change order is a written record that the work, price or schedule has changed from what was first agreed. Write down the original quote or contract number, describe the change, price what is added or removed and note any change to the completion date. Both sides sign before the extra work starts.

Enter work you are removing as a negative amount, for example -250, and the total change reflects the credit. The wording is yours: the template adds no contract clauses.

Questions

What is a change order?

A written record of a change to the agreed work, price or schedule, approved by both sides. It is usually agreed before the extra work is done.

How do I show a credit?

Type the amount as a negative number, such as -250, in the rate box on the line.

Does it work out sales tax for me?

No. Sales tax rules and rates differ by state and by item, so you type your own rate or leave it blank. Nothing is looked up. This is not tax or accounting advice.

Templates and calculators are for general use only and are not legal, tax or accounting advice.
